My childhood was influenced a little here and there by my father’s spinning Beatles records, watching Jack Black in the iconic comedy School of Rock and smashing the drums on Guitar Hero. While most of my friends were having tea parties in the summer of 2007, my brother and I were making a music video to Feel Good Inc. in the basement, me brilliantly nailing the triangle.
Unfortunately, being in a band would only be a fantasy for me. My classical piano days and sub-par singing would not cultivate the colossal fan-base I was after. But what I love about being a fashion editor is the chance to bring that make-believe vision to life. I can create my very own ultimate rock band.
A band that’s a little bit punk, yet glamorous under the stage lights. They are stars that grew from the garage of their parents’ place to the headliners. Even after making it big, their friendships and romances still exist behind their greatest hits. With guitar solos galore, there’s no doubt that it’s about to get loud.
