Horses run through the wilderness as instinctive freedom, carried only by their own legs and the direction of the land ahead. No hesitation to claim the road ahead of them. We, as people, find our own stamina and measure it through hardship. How much can you persevere? How far will your legs take you?
To endure is to be free
As does how many times we are asked to prove ourselves. Not to the world, but to yourself. Through hardship, uncertainty and the quiet discipline of ordinary days it is found in choosing consistency over comfort, kindness over criticism, and decisions that carry you toward the life ahead rather than ones that are tethered to the past. Instead we choose to look ahead and step forward. Allowing you to see and reach your limitations, trust yourself, that is where freedom begins.
A horse embodies this kind of trust fundementally. Built to rely on its own legs it runs without looking down at the ground beneath it. Its focus can only remain ahead, toward the path, the obstacles, and all the distance to come. It does not turn toward what is falling behind. There is no need to. Strength is in trusting that each step will carry it forward.
In this way, the horse becomes a symbol of self-trust. Freedom that cultivates self assurance is not simply the ability to go wherever you choose, but the freedom within your mind, body and soul to move forward with certainty in yourself.
