It’s Time to Talk About Fur

In a world that’s becoming increasingly more open-minded, no one talks about pubic hair, at least, not in public. For something that grows on everyone’s body, it’s seen as a taboo subject. But I have one word for you: Fur. It’s the personal care and beauty brand that’s tackling that taboo head-on. It is the first brand to break into and essentially create the pubic hair industry. Founded and launched by lifelong best friends Lillian Tung and Laura Schubert in 2016, this up and coming brand is taking the beauty industry by storm.

Raved about in Vogue, Elle, The Cut and actress Emma Watson, Fur is the first brand to be inclusive toward body hair and, more importantly, pubic hair, opening a healthy conversation on pubic hair that many people feel should be kept under wraps. Whether you wax, shave or like to embrace the bush, Fur provides a way we can take care of our skin and pubic hair. Fur Oil, their signature product, made from key ingredients like grape seed oil, jojoba oil and tea tree oil is designed for use on pubic hair and skin (but can really go anywhere on your body including face and head hair), clears pores, combats ingrown hairs and promotes healthy skin.

Products range from the infamous Fur Oil to Stubble Cream, Ingrown Concentrate and The Silk Scrub. After having to search online for ways to tackle ingrown hairs, coming across countless home remedies and hacks, finally having a product in the beauty industry whose purpose is to tackle those problem areas is exciting and frankly groundbreaking.

Although Fur is a hot topic brand right now, they still struggle in terms of cementing their brand in the big wig beauty industry and securing steady investors. Check out their episode on Viceland’s series HUSTLE where you can get an in-depth view into their business and the struggles they face in the industry.
