12 Hours Ahead in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers authentic architecture to its visitors with aesthetically pleasing public spaces and Wes Anderson film-like color schemes. With zooming taxis, double-decker buses, and millions of people to wade through, public spaces are designated areas for the citizens to take a break from the chaos of the city.

Exotic colors are common here with smoothly surfaced architecture complementing the clean lines and structures supporting the Eastern lifestyle. With so much color in this concrete jungle, there is a happiness and upbeat rhythm that beats through the neighborhoods, the market stalls, and the neon lights at night influencing the dress of everyone.

A few blocks down from SCAD Hong Kong exists this interior space surrounded by colorful apartment buildings. This city is full of spaces like these, each one singing its unique color scheme to locals as they pass through. Similar to dressing for an event, one can also dress to complement a space.

A color-blocked tee, denim jeans, and white platform sneakers are all Minsuk needed in order to compliment this space. This exercise and concept relate to the idea that fashion is blending into the sector of lifestyle. Not only do clothes speak a language about your personality, they also portray a lifestyle that you actually live.

Perhaps dressing to compliment your environment in the elements of color, shape, and texture is something we all should keep in mind. Clothing says something before you do. The combination of space and intention to coordinate and compliment the area that you live in makes the conversation deeper and more intentional.
