Why No One Should Take Advice on what to Do Post-Breakup From the Artist Formerly Known as Kanye West

When the ball dropped in Times Square on January 1st, 2022, so did Kanye West’s respect for his soon-to-be ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, as well as any sort of remains of who Julia Fox was before being Ye’d.

Like the rest of the world, I’ve been watching the KimYe divorce unfold for the past year with a heavy heart. The couple that conquered the fashion world, made every headline, and endured quite possibly the most scandalous of scandals have finally parted ways.

Who could KKW possibly date next? Van Jones of CNN? Maluma? The next largest Silicon Valley mogul? Who could match her power? Well, as it turns out…

…the answer is Pete Davidson

Pete. Davidson. The internet’s ultimate boyfriend is quite possibly the most incredible solution for Kardashian-West’s resurgence onto the dating scene.

While KKW and Davidson are galavanting to the Bahamas, running errands both clad in Skims or indulging in chill date nights at LA hotspot Jon and Vinny’s, Kanye West is taking a much more obnoxious approach to breakup healing.

Known for her breakout role in Uncut Gems, alongside Adam SandlerIdina Menzel, and more, Julia Fox’s social media presence predating the new year was nothing out of the ordinary. Ads for Tiffany & Co., self-promo for her podcast “Forbidden Fruit,” and maximalist glamor shots all came together to represent who this starlet was.

One date night to famed NYC restaurant Carbone, a bizarre Interview Magazine feature directed by Ye himself (the main shot being Fox straddling him in the bathroom) and a whole new Balenciaga wardrobe later, Fox was officially West-ified.

The public’s reaction to this odd turn of events was equated to when KKW broke the internet in 2014. Where did these two even meet? How long have they been together? Why is she dressed like Kim? Who even is Julia Fox?

I was startled when I first saw these pictures bombard their way onto my feed. Surely I had seen the paparazzi pictures of West and numerous “mystery girls” throughout their divorce buzz, but I simply passed it off as Kanye coping without Kim in his ‘Scott Disick era.’

True Kardashian fanatics know that not even Disick himself would go this far.

Kanye West’s very public breakdown is something we’re privy to. Over the past few years, he’s had an immensely public struggle with his mental health, often engaging in various outbursts from Trump-supporting to family secret divulging

It seems as though the newest target of his vengeance is his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian herself.

West’s behavior of publicly galavanting his latest flame, speaking out in his feature on The Game’s newest song, “Eazy,” about how West wants to “beat Pete Davidson’s a**” and ranting on Instagram Live about being uninvited from daughter Chicago’s birthday party. Only to show up an hour later is a splendid example of what many have had to face post-breakup.

Trying to prove to your ex that life is going on just fine is a tale as old as time. Many turn to thirst trap Instagrams, perhaps posting Snapchats that prove they’re having much more fun than you or even dropping your own diss track (especially if your ex is a SoundCloud rapper).

We look up to our celebrity heroes, whether we should or shouldn’t. Kanye himself has a following of over 10 million, with an army of fans who purchase every sneaker or song he drops.

I urge West’s fans to ignore his latest acts. To not treat their former interests or significant others the way that West is turning to. Allow yourself to reflect on the time you spent with that person. Evolve naturally, meet new people when the time comes.

Because although you may feel better for a minute, you surely won’t feel better in the long run. The internet never forgets and neither will I, especially the image of Julia Fox, Madonna, Kanye, Antonio Brown, and Floyd Maywether. That, my friends, is forever.
