The Face Mask Trio with Summer Fridays

Summer Fridays are as good as it gets. It’s the final day of the work week and the time of year we’ve all been waiting for. The name now embodies the refreshing face mask brand created by influencer founders Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores Ireland.

Launched in 2018, Summer Fridays quickly took over Instagram, with the original baby blue Jet Lag Mask tube being photographed on flights and gold trays across the country. A multi-purpose product, it can be rubbed in as a moisturizer, left on for ten minutes as a face mask, or worn to sleep as an overnight mask. Personally, I use its hydrating qualities for saving the bags under my eyes after pulling an all-nighter.

In addition to the Jet Lag Mask, the brand has expanded, adding the Overtime and R+R masks to their shelves. For when you and your skin are overworked, Overtime will gently exfoliate while spreading the aroma of a pumpkin spice latte. In addition to pumpkin, the formula includes apricot seed powder and oat kernel protein, along with vitamins A, K and C.

R+R mask, on the other hand, is made for when skin needs a little something extra. Half face mask, half face oil, the rosy mask can be left on for 10 minutes before patting the remaining oil into the skin. The purpose is to add a glow to the skin through Bulgarian rose, argan oil, rose flower powder and a variety of oils including safflower, sesame, avocado and grape seed.

Hewitt and Gores, originally beauty bloggers, claim to have tried everything in the industry. Summer Fridays was the accumulation of things they believed the industry was missing for the women of today. The masks are designed to work together and they exist to encourage the woman who is jetlagged and putting in overtime to take a bit of R+R for herself. Let this be your reminder to take a break, even if it’s just a 10-minute face mask. It is a summer Friday after all.
