The Heart Stricken Woman

What happens when the love of your life leaves you at your highest?

ACT 1: The Diva

Her life is surrounded by screaming fans and flashing lights. Her songs are playful, airy and warming but her voice…that’s where the magic was. She was THE DIVA! All glamour, all glitz, but not everything that glitz is gold. Her face was everywhere, on billboards, magazines, day time television, etc. Her records sold out instantly whenever they were released. Hundreds and thousands of people came to her shows and signings. Everyone loved her, all but one.

ACT 2: The Crashing

He was supposed to love her. He was supposed to be her person in the chaotic world she lived in. She was supposed to be his star but he dimmed that light. He was jealous. He wanted the love she received from everyone but she wanted his. A letter – he left a letter for her. Saying how it’s not her, it’s him. How she was slowing him down and he wasn’t getting anywhere in his career. Lies upon lies upon lies. Her heart shattered like a broken picture frame, waiting for the final blow. And that was him being with her best friend. Riveting in anger and hatred, she destroyed everything in their apartment, only leaving a chair next to her landline and an empty bottle of scotch. She crashed out. She threw away the letter, disgusted by the horrible act he committed. Tears streaming down her glittered face, he broke her.

ACT 3: The Stricken

She was broken. Her heart was empty. She thought, “where do broken hearts go?”. He left her with nothing. Yes, she still had all her fame and fortune but where was the love? She had become somber. She could barely find a reason to use her voice. Bed ridden, touch starved, no one to turn to, no one to seek comfort. Alone and forgotten. Tissues scatter her couch as newspapers and magazines fall to the floor. Her silver tears stain her golden girl face. She had nothing left. She was stricken.
