Society casts an ideal form upon men, that of hyper-masculinity, that which is God-like. Sharp jawlines and muscular physiques traditionally implicate masculinity, but it is a spectrum. Looking like society’s version of a man does not guarantee manliness. Masculinity is cultivated through love and respect for oneself and others, regardless of differences like race, gender, sexual preference and everything in between. This is modern masculinity by way of acceptance.
