The act of creating with someone is both intimate and destructive. In your hatred for the irrevocable creation of one piece made by two minds, are you hating the part of yourself that you gave away or the part of yourself you took from another? Creative immortality details the phenomenon that our artwork allows us to live on forever. Books are bound, the archives are treasured, and we hold printed mediums close to our hearts—even in the face of digital utopia and late-stage everything. Call it evolution or history or God, humans survive their physical destruction through the physicality of their memories that outlive them. All the tenderness and sadness and nostalgia are grounded by the contributions they created together. But where do you end and I begin?
