Taran and Bunny, the creators of Blume, have fostered a place to celebrate womanhood and share the untold advice: the good, the bad and the ugly. Their mission is to live through self-care and “create confident, informed young women to live the best versions of themselves.” Founded on starting the conversation about periods, Blume champions not being ashamed, aiming to remove the taboo and stigma. The company wants women to feel safe and have transparent and sustainable products that are good for the body and environment. Blume currently has a monthly subscription service starting at $10.99/month that provides their six main products: organic tampons and pads, deodorant, PMS oil, face wash and a blemish treatment serum. Customers can pick and choose what they want to be delivered with free shipping.
Blume is all about educating their customer; education equals empowerment. Blume’s blog, Blume University, shares stories on personal journeys with their products and a more in-depth on how to use them and how they are made, as well as teaching about UTIs, periods and other feminine challenges.
Blume pushes to have organic products, especially their tampons and pads. Both the tampons and pads are biodegradable and 100% cotton. For tampons, they have two applicators, plastic (90% sugar cane, 10% plastic) and cardboard (plant-based biodegradable). They also have day and overnight pads and panty liners, all 100% cotton.
Along with their feminine products, their best-selling pair is their face wash and blemish treatment. DAYDREAMER, face wash, goes in hand with MELTDOWN, a blemish treatment serum. First, the face wash lifts away impurities, while hydrating the skin, and reduces redness. After using DAYDREAM, take a few drops of MELTDOWN and apply directly on the breakout to soothe irritation, prevent scarring and reduce inflammation. DAYDREAMER and MELTDOWN are BPA free, paraben free, alcohol-free and cruelty-free.
