I have a deep rooted obsession with obsessive behavior, and my current hyperfixation is stripes. Originally coming into fashion in the 1800’s, they’ve followed a pattern of being popular, to out of date, to popular again. Trends today in fashion, like stripes, often stem from pop culture: Wednesday, the Barbie movie, etc. Personally, I feel incapable of liking things a normal amount. I become obsessed and feel the need to indulge myself in whatever I can get my hands on. Most recently, I have come down with “A Bad Case of Stripes”.
A girl with A Bad Case of Stripes wears them proudly and confidently. They become a second skin, whether on outerwear or underwear, and she can’t go a day without. She feels powerful, bold. Stripey. But the obsession has become more than skin deep; it’s inside of her. Stripes fill her lungs every time she takes a breath. She’s an addict and she doesn’t ever want to stop.
