This isn’t the first time we’ve done this dance. It’s seasonal. Winter and Spring roll around and our routines come out for competition. And the competition out here? It’s fierce.
Who can give their all and whose “all” is enough?
All for what you ask? Internships and jobs in the fashion industry, of course.
Before you even get to perform though (because job interview’s truly are a performance) there is endless preparation and practice: Portfolios, resumes, no sleep, applications, unpaid work, more applications.
NO SLEEP!
Constant work and constant wondering who can stand it the longest without mistakes.
But after all, mistakes are bound to happen.
Send a non-ATS friendly resume?
10 point deduction.
Neglect to send a follow-up email? “You’re clearly not eager enough!!”
15 point deduction.
Lack connections at the company?
Girl you were never even in the running.
But maybe, just maybe, it will all line up. Maybe that brand will follow up!
You’ve made it!
