Contrary to what is usual, traditional or accepted rave culture has been viewed by the eyes of society as dirty, dangerous, and unhealthy. People believe techno raves are a place where you go only to be under the influence of a hallucinogenic, but truly everything can be misunderstood. In Berlin during the early 80s, like-minded individuals would gather and dance to various genres of electronic music while experiencing elevated states of consciousness. People could dance for hours in a fantastic environment created by DJs. Though ground-breaking electronica and creatives, this served as the foundation for rave, but the culture was greater than that. The scene was cultivated and dispersed with the aid of fashion, laser lights, and open minds. A movement this enchanting would inevitably expand to enormous proportions. Nowadays, rave culture has grown across the world, influencing many people. Current techno clubs have kept the “underground” rave style and incorporated it into their experience by being extremely selective with public access and prohibiting the use of photography and video inside the premises. This has allowed techno and rave enthusiasts to express their unique selves and immerse themselves in the sounds of electronica. Unorthodox shows rave as the experience it truly is by showing the expressiveness of fashion and creative freedom that happens in the underground.
