Pretty Ugly

Female rage. Men have driven women to insanity through the beauty standard — a standard written by people with ugly taste. We, as women, have decided to rewrite these standards.

For a long time, men have driven women to this constructed idea of female insanity by imposing beauty standards upon them, but what is considered pretty versus ugly should be something decided upon by the wearer.

Women are reconstructing their ideas of what beauty means to them. Icons like Julia Fox, Ziwe, Emily Ratajkowski, and Mia Khalifa, who are naturally beautiful by conventional beauty standards, have been constructing this idea of looks that men seem to hate. They embark on breaking down this idea through channels like books and podcasts. These outlets, which are viewed as intelligent forms of media by men, are instantly shot down and perceived as dumb. The reason? The women who are viewed as sexual objects are the ones profiting from these outlets.

Women like them are taking down these standards by reclaiming their rage and channeling it into something powerful, influential, and inspirational. By wearing unconventional and “ugly” looks, they take back their potential and their power.
