Over the course of humanity we have witnessed major technological innovations in fashion from the beginning of the sewing machine to the rise of e-commerce. Starting off as purely functional, people relied on clothes to protect and keep them warm, but throughout time fashion became an object of desire. Clothing was a sense of status and what you wore determined your identity.
Today, fashion technology is growing at a faster pace than ever. The digital world opens up new opportunities allowing advancements ranging from spray on dresses, to robots sewing and cutting fabric, to a UV light color changing collection. Designers are mixing science and fashion to push new boundaries like we’ve never seen before. These future-forward inventions may be used for more than just creating intricate fashion; they believe it can revolutionize multiple industries. The developments of technology in the fashion industry continue to move us into a more efficient, creative future. Multidisciplinary and innovative, the limits to what’s coming is beyond us.
