Editors’ Picks: 2025 Ins, Outs, and Goals

Although we are more than halfway into January 2025, it is never too late for intention (plus, we are still days away from the Lunar New Year, so it still counts). After a bit of a tumultuous 2024, we had some thoughts on how to best navigate the rollercoaster that 2025 will certainly be. From dating practices to our beverages of choice, to our favorite accessories, we rounded up all of our personal ins, outs, and goals for the year ahead. 

Flora:

In: GAP! 

In: Queer media. Yes! I said it! 

In: Print.

In: Color

Out: Appealing to the masses

Out: Not dancing in the club. Have some fun, I’m begging.

Out: Brain rot/doom scrolling/general anti-intellectualism. It’s cool to care and it’s even cooler to LEARN.

Goal: Grow up and call people on the phone

Alex:

In: Long walks

In: Obsessing over one piece of media

In: Saying “sorry”

Out: Doomscrolling

Out: Buying everything on my feed

Out: Productivity guilt

Goal: Become employed (preferably with benefits!)

Miia:

In: Celeb stylists going DEEP into the archives for looks (not just red carpets)!

In: Independent fashion brands

Out: Pretending your shoes are comfortable. Wear them (they’re still cute), but cut the act. 

Out: Believing every Creative Director rumor…my heart can’t take it anymore.

Goal: Handwrite more! Letters, notes, papers, truly anything. 

Mishi:

In: Project Pan

In: Fact-checking “news” from Tik Tok

Out: Overpriced streaming subscriptions 

Out: Complicated skincare routines (like more than 8 steps)

Goal: Have more home-cooked meals. It’s better to know what’s going into your body and it saves so much money!

Anna:

In: Food as fuel, 

In: Giant & chunky earrings

In: Project pan, 

In: Caring about your health

In: Going out without makeup

Out: Overconsumption

Out: Partying every night 

Out: Making up weird aesthetic names (ex: anything Hailey Biber Core) 

Out: Microscopic bags

Goal: Moving my body at least once every day, expand my writing portfolio, cook new meals 

Paige:

In: Emma Chamberlain’s Podcast!! Hence, buying less and forming a capsule closet. (HEAVY on De-influencing) Let’s ripen not rot!

Out: Typing in lowercase… (it’s lame)

Out: DOOM SCROLLING… help.

Goal: REBRAND! I need a change, change feels so good. (with the right mindset of course)

Evan:

In: Dating for networking. Oh, you know the hiring manager? Let’s grab dinner. 

In: Sitting at the bar in the club. My feet are tired. Also going out early.

Out: Uber. 30 min walk? I’m doing it. The cost is outrageous. 

Out: Sugary coffee. Just get a cold brew. 

Goal: Internship af. It’s that point in my life, time to accept it. 

Ari: 

In: Holding space

In: Creative Braids

In: Green tea + journaling

Out: Carrie Bradshaw

Out: FOMO

Out: Super duper bright under eye that isn’t blended out properly

Goal: To be more curious, have more interests, read more and curate the perfect closet and routine. 

Aubrey:

In: being 5 minutes late

In: Telling ppl when they smell good

Out: Ghosting

Out: Slow walkers

Out: Cilantro (sorry I hate it so much)

Goal: make more physical art (print print print print), fun haircut

Charlie:

In: Non-functional (purely cosmetic) vintage watches

Goal: Finally enjoy matcha 

Abigail:
