Quarantine has presented the opportunity for people to slow down and appreciate life. Nature serves as a rejuvenation center where souls and inner children can dance to the velvety symphony called healing. Earthly Delights is a playful tribute to humans’ relationships to the earth.
Inspired by the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch’s, ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’, known for its fantastic imagery and delicate details, explores the idea of humanity losing its way. This historic artwork captivates viewers through its absurd images and hidden symbolism. Pulling the images of flowers and fruits that represent short-lived pleasures of the flesh and rewriting a narrative that appreciates the gift of nature, Bosch uses color to aggrandize this point, catapulting his art into planes of robust innovation.
