After completing internships at Carolina Herrera and Tory Burch, Senior Fashion Marketing and Management major Katie Schiewe has experienced all aspects of the industry, both on a smaller design team and in a corporate setting.
While interning in PR at Carolina Herrera after her freshman year, Katie made an effort to be the last one to leave the office everyday, to make sure that everything was taken care of. When it was over, she wrote thank you notes to the team for gifting her with life changing opportunities.
Because she maintained close relationships with the ladies at Herrera’s office, the team offered her a spot in the front row at this year’s 35th anniversary show at the Frick museum. Katie said that she repeatedly offered to stand, but they insisted that she fill the empty seat. Sitting next to editors from Vogue and buyers from Bergdorf Goodman was a dream come true.
